Madison has proven, for the most part, that it can support brew pubs that are well done and that serve quality food and beer.  The competition is getting stiffer with the arrival of two new brew pubs, and the addition of another location of a Madison standby.

Gray’s Tied House has opened in Verona.  Serving Gray’s beer out of Janesville, and focusing on a more upscale experience, this restaurant has been open now for a few weeks.

Granite City Food & Brewery opens on December 12.  Located at West Towne Mall, it will be interesting to see if this chain can compete in a city where locally owned brew pubs have thrived.

And speaking of thriving, The Great Dane is opening up their latest location on December 2 at Hilldale Mall.�
